Rolling Out Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT: A 90-Day Adoption Plan
A practical 90-day plan to turn Copilot, ChatGPT or Gemini licenses into everyday, safe and measurable use — pilot, train, scale and measure.

Buying AI assistant licenses is easy. Getting people to use them well — safely, daily and for work that matters — is where most rollouts stall. This 90-day plan is the structure we use with clients rolling out Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude or Gemini.
Days 1–30: Prepare and pilot
- Set goals: pick three to five measurable outcomes, such as time saved on specific tasks or adoption in target teams.
- Get the basics right: data access, permissions and an acceptable-use policy people can understand in five minutes.
- Choose pilot teams with enthusiastic leaders and repetitive, text-heavy work.
- Baseline: survey confidence and time spent on target tasks before training starts.
Days 31–60: Train and embed
- Role-based workshops built on real tasks from each team, not generic demos.
- Prompt libraries per role, stored where people work.
- Champions in each team who go deeper and support colleagues.
- Office hours each week to unblock people and collect use cases.
Days 61–90: Scale and measure
- Measure against the baseline and share wins with specific examples.
- Extend to the next teams using champions and refined materials.
- Identify automation candidates: repetitive tasks that should move from assistant use to automated workflows or agents.
- Refresh the policy based on what teams actually encountered.
What makes the difference
The rollouts that work treat adoption as a change program, not an IT deployment: clear goals, practical training, visible leadership use and a feedback loop. Our AI training programs are designed around exactly this, and read more in AI training for teams.
